Ballet In Form

Educational video library featuring the world’s finest ballet luminaries

Founded by former Pacific Northwest Ballet soloist Marisa Albee, Ballet In Form’s mission is to educate, inform and inspire both teachers and dancers; and forge a global community for the enrichment and deeper understanding of ballet.

At its core, Ballet In Form is a free online video library. Each video consisting of short, concise techniques and insights from some of the most respected names in the world of ballet. When we began the project, an impressive number of videos had already been filmed and ready to go, but there was no branding, website or social media presence in place.

It was clear that our work needed to start with branding. Collaborating with designer Chris Lyle we landed on a color scheme and two versions of the logo… a horizontal word-mark, and a smaller icon version for situations where space is limited.

For the website we turned to our trusted, go-to platform… Wordpress.

With Wordpress we were able to design and build a custom responsive site, while providing Marisa and her team with a back-end interface accessible from any desktop or mobile device. Utilizing Wordpress’ Custom Fields functionality we were able to add additional content options to the post editor, such as Video Author Bio and Video Length.

To ensure the best streaming experience possible, we integrated Vimeo Pro for all video embeds. Social sharing is powered by AddThis and for comments we went with the Disqus platform.
